Rain & Cold - Go Away!

Raining hard today and in 40's.
Yesterday was overcast and I went for a walk on the beach.
Was sweating by the time I finished.

 Overcast but needed sunglasses.

Good leg exercise - sand is soft here.

 Love the water color here.

Mark & Doreen walked with me last year - had to go by myself this year!

S'mores

Back to McGuires today for their meatloaf lunch special.
Martinis were also half price today so I had a S'mores martini.

A bike ride

Went for a bike ride on Sunday to see how Bruce would make out.  I would have been happy for him to do 5 miles.  His goal was to do 12.34 miles but he did 13 1/2 miles and could have probably gone our normal 20.  Luckily roads here are flat!

Since then it has been somewhat rainy & very windy so we are eating at McGuires Irish Pub instead of exercising!

Destin

Finally made it to Destin on Thursday.

Thurs sunset - taken from our balcony.

 Daytime view from our balcony.

Clouds started to roll in on Friday evening.

We're on the Penthouse floor - long way down from here!

 Friday sunset.

I went for a walk along the harbor today.  This is as far as Bruce got!
Still tired but doing better.

Night time view of cars crossing the bridge.

It is quite cool and windy here right now so it is giving Bruce a good chance to recuperate.  Maybe before the week is over we can do a short bike ride or paddle.  We'll see what the week brings.
Meanwhile we'll go to McGuires a few times for their lunch specials!

Cricket

Barbara adopted a cat that needed a home - had previously belonged to an elderly man.  Cricket went and hid when we first arrived but got used to us and we saw more of him eventually.

Thanks Barbara for your hospitality and support.  It made things much easier for both of us.

Bruce provides excitement!

We got to Inverness to stay with Barbara for the week-end.  It turned into a few more days.  Bruce ended up in the emergency room with a bleeding ulcer.  He had good care.  They got it clipped off to stop the bleeding, was given 2 units of blood to replace what he lost and then he spent a few days recuperating.
Went into the hospital on Sat Feb 14th (at least he waited until evening so we could enjoy an afternoon meal at a restaurant with Barbara).
Passed out in the ER waiting room - got into ER care faster!
Was discharged on Tues, Feb. 17th.  He moved out of Critical Care Unit and on to regular floor on Monday and met a nice fellow from TN.  He and Bruce developed a quick friendship which helped make time there seem better.

Bruce in ER with tube stuck up his nose draining blood from his stomach.

More paddles

When it wasn't too windy, we got some more paddles in.  Did most of our paddles on the Butler chain of lakes.

 Saw lots of these birds.

 Lake Tibet is huge.

 Many beautiful homes.
This one on Lake Butler.

Sky writing prevalent on days with blue skies.

Osprey sightings are common.

Florida Bike trails

Florida bike trails are awesome!  Wide with bridges going over major highways!

We had some nice riding days.

Critter

When going out to the car the other day, I saw a guy with a camera aiming into the landscaping.  This is what he was videoing.  I got lucky and got a nice picture.

Barbara visits

Our friend Barbara came for a few days this past week.  It was cool but we had fun playing putt-putt golf, cards and visiting with her.

Yea!  I got a hole-in-one!

Thanks for coming to visit, Barbara.
