Ready to move on

We've had a good week here at Myrtle Beach.  Got 3 bike rides in for a total of 75 miles.
Didn't get any paddling in - it was too windy.
Had a nice dinner at Biminis with Ann & Dan.
Walks on the beach.
Turtle races.
Now we are packed up and ready to go farther north and meet our newest grandson, Wyatt who was born on March 17th.

Turtle Races

Flat Stanley had fun at the turtle races.
Ready to go race the turtles.

 Cheering them on.

He cheered his turtle to victory!

 Cheering for another race.

Time to go for a treat -
Boy, that Cold Stone Sundae looks good.

Myrtle Beach

Flat Stanley is having fun in the sand at Myrtle Beach.

Flat Stanley watches spring arrive

Spring was arriving in Georgia while Flat Stanley was there.

 Daffodils in bloom

 Dogwood when he first arrived.

 Same dogwood before we left.

Forsythia in bloom.

Flat Stanley goes kayaking

Weather was nice enough that Flat Stanley got to go kayaking.

 Saw geese

 Saw coots.

Saw some strange looking ducks.

More Flat Stanley adventures

Went to library and helped Bruce pick out some books.

Saw red clay - most of the soil around here is red clay.

Spent time on the screened patio looking at the lake.

Flat Stanley on a bike ride

One of the first things Flat Stanley did while visiting Georgia was to go on a bike ride.  Then he went on several others throughout his time there.

 Rode through farm country.

 Saw cows

Saw horses

We also went on a new section of the Greenbelt bike trail.
 Trail went along a creek.

Nice wide trail.

Flat Stanley

Look what arrived in the mail while we were in Georgia!

"Flat Stanley"  arrived with a nice letter from our Grandson Oscar asking us to take Flat Stanley on adventures for a school project.  We will share some of his adventures with you too.

Finally

Finally able to get back to blogging.  Uploading pictures to the blog was painfully time consuming in Georgia so I basically stopped.  Be checking in now for some updates!

Fun in Georgia

We enjoyed our 3 weeks in Villa Rica GA.  It is Bruce's favorite resort.  Very unresort-like, very cozy units and right on the lake.  Bicycling in Carrollton is also nice with some rolling hills.  It started out cold here but has warmed up nicely with the last week being beautiful most days.  We've enjoyed watching spring arrive.

Bruce recuperated nicely from his hospitalization in FL and was able to ride the hills without a problem - Got stronger every ride.

 Rolling farm land.

Tulips were just starting to bloom when we got here.

Flowering trees had not started to blossom yet.

Nice to be able to just go outside and get into our kayaks.

Blossoms starting.

By the end of our time the tree was in blossom.

Beautiful forsythia in bloom.

Trees in blossom on our last bike ride.
