Rain

Yesterday it rained all day and this morning it was raining again.
By 10:00 rain had ended and we were able to get out on our bikes.
Had a few sprinkles and lots of puddles but it was in the 70's so wasn't too bad.

Where calm meets the ocean

Monday we were able to get a nice paddle in.
No wind, nice calm waters
Bruce likes to find "bridges" to go under.

Paddled out to where the water met the ocean.

Didn't go too far out into the waves.

North Myrtle Beach

We are staying in a different resort this year.
Links Golf & Racquet Club in North Myrtle Beach.
It was in the low 50's this morning but it was sunny so we were able to get a nice 22 mile bike ride in so Bruce would be back to watch football games.

Sewing projects

I brought my sewing machine with me this year.
Been working on some projects for Teri - her PTO is having a craft fair in March & I have been making some things for them.

Some purses and a small tote bag.

Large tote bags.

Great week

It was a great week in Atlantic Beach.
Weather was beautiful.

 Pretty sunsets.

Did more paddling in Bogue Sound.

 New bridge being built.

Fun to see some of the equipment up close.

Under the "to be" bridge.

Surf was high this morning.
Rainy.
Rain cleared by afternoon & we got the trailer packed - leave tomorrow for Myrtle Beach.

Christmas Parade

Saturday was the annual Christmas Parade in Morehead City.
It was a warm & sunny day.

Lots of candy thrown.
Bruce gave his candy to one of the little girls next to us.
He did keep a lollipop for himself though.

After 2 hours, Santa finally appeared!

Another nice day

Yesterday we got another bike ride in - nice enough to go in the morning.
Then in the evening we enjoyed a wonderful choral concert at a local high school.

This morning we paddled in Beaufort - one of my favorite places to paddle in this area.

Got another beach walk in this afternoon.

Puzzle

Bruce's brother, Jack brought me some puzzles at Thanksgiving.
Bruce does his own puzzles but I started this puzzle last night and finished it this morning.

Thanks Jack.  It was a fun one.

Nice days

Yesterday & today were beautiful.
Yesterday we went on a bike ride in a residential area we hadn't seen before.

Today we did a paddle .

Paddled around the harbor in Morehead City.

When we got back I did a walk on the beach followed by a trip to the pool/hot tub.  Good day!

Thanksgiving "catch-up"

Thought I'd better post some Thanksgiving pictures before next Thanksgiving roles around.  We were at Teri's in Pine Grove PA this year.  25 were there for Thanksgiving Day.  Luckily it was a nice day so the kids could get outside and play and many of us adults hung outside too.
Wonderful day.

 Zoe crowned Dottie "the Queen"

Bruce & Jack were fighting over "Kingship" but Bruce got to wear the crown!

Bruce's sister, Audrey wears a light up head dress.

 Darren "supervises" kids on trampoline.

You say your knees are sore?

Fun for all the bouncers!

Noah had fun playing with toy bow & arrow set.

Siblings - Bruce, Audrey & Jack

Siblings with spouses.

Atlantic Beach

Arrived in Atlantic Beach, NC  yesterday afternoon.
Planned on doing a bike ride this morning but it was very windy.
Went to church instead and enjoyed a nice service with a hand bell choir and special music.
I went for a walk on the beach this afternoon while Bruce watched football.

Thurs Ride

Got another ride in on Thursday.  Drove to Charles City and rode a back road loop and then joined the bike trail.  More traffic than we expected on the back road and the bike trail was boring.  Stiff head wind in some areas so our ride was a little shorter than normal.
It was an area we hadn't ridden before though.

Tues Ride

Raining Tuesday morning but the afternoon cleared and we were able to get back on bikes again.
Drove to Chickahominy Park (where we usually turn around) and biked toward Charles City. - the new section of bike path.
Sherwood Forest Bike Path.
Not much to see but there were a few historical markers to stop & read.

John Tyler's home after he left office.
